World FM is a low power FM (LPFM) radio station based in Tawa,
Wellington, New Zealand.
Our aim is to play a mix of some of the best world music, Kiwi classics, and a selection of radio programming from around the world. We are currently broadcasting on 88.2 MHz, in Tawa, Wellington, New Zealand, using an NRG PLL Pro III transmitter and Airomate stereo & RDS encoding software. Our antenna is a tuneable 1/4-wave groundplane from the FM DX Antenna Company World FM has been on air since March 2005, using a variety of frequencies in the 88 MHz LPFM band. During various parts of the year we also operate a relay transmitter at Marahau, near the entrance to the Abel Tasman National Park, Nelson. This currently also operates on 88.2 MHz.
